A community service set up to support people experiencing loneliness and isolation has helped more than 9, adults since it was launched, a new report shows.
South Swindon MP Robert Buckland is calling for organisations in Swindon to apply for government funding to help tackle loneliness in the town. Mr Buckland has been running a campaign about the issue over the past four years with Swindon Seniors Forum.
The objective of the Loneliness Engagement Fund is to reach those groups most affected by loneliness during Covid with communications and engagement activity that will help reduce feelings of stigma, and encourage people to take steps to help themselves and others.
